Brazil-Mexico Soccer Game Coming To Kyle Field

Has Potential To Break Attendance Record

Tens of thousands expected at August 8, 2024 match

COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) - Tens of thousands are expected to fill the stands at Kyle Field on Aug. 8, 2024, when Brazil and Mexico face off in a men's soccer friendly.

Texas A&M University Director of Athletics Trev Alberts said they had to put a cap on season ticket sales at 25,000 because of the high demand. He expects walk-up sales to add a few thousand more to the crowd.

The match will be the first between the two international powerhouses since 2019. With the match being held in College Station, Alberts said he's hoping to break the attendance record for a soccer match in the state of Texas. The current record is 53,021, set in 2005 when Mexico played Argentina at the Alamodome in San Antonio.
